Fertility Project: The Golden Egg - Going beyond the Limitation of Nature

In my art, I consider the themes of femininity, life, and its potential, and the exposure of the unspoken and unseen in society, as well as in human communication.

Women's fertility is in danger, due to the ever-increasing average age of women experiencing their first childbirth, which is in turn due to the increasing financial independence of women, and the pursuit of their individual career aspirations. In a world that proclaims, "Anything is possible," humans are finding it difficult to believe in the natural limitations of nature. We instead believe in the triad of self-realization, hope, and pushing the limitations of nature.

My art project "The Golden Egg" began during my feminist-focused residency at the Centre Pompadour. A blog publication can be found here: https://art24.world/en/blog/gold-feminism-and-the-matter-of-female-fertility-1C3111p6tfCkmmgMJ8Md5F

Visually, I represent produced eggs as dots in my paintings. My "dot paintings" serve as an artistic representation of hope for the miraculous creation of new life. The act of painting the "eggs" is a form of structured meditation, bringing these uniform points to the canvas. In this process, I use 24-karat gold with great intention: a "gilded dot" symbolizes the "Golden Egg," which ultimately leads to the miracle of birth. Naturally, it is typically only one—sometimes two, and extremely rarely three—"Golden Eggs." Unfortunately, there are often none.

This art series is symbolic of life. It represents those who are already alive—and were once a "Golden Egg"—as well as the miracles currently being created and the hopes of all who wish to conceive a child. I express the miracle of life in my art through the use of 24-karat gold, a material that is considered highly valuable in many cultures.
