Please direct any questions or comments relating to this data protection statement, or to data protection in general, to the following email address: mail@redoutside.com.

2. Declaration of consent

By using the RedOutside website, the user is expressing their agreement with this data protection policy and is giving RedOutside their consent to collect, process, use, analyse, store and/or disseminate their personal data and usage data in the circumstances described in this data protection policy for the purposes described in the policy and in the terms of use.

3. Object of the data collection

a) Informational use It is not, in principle, necessary for you to enter any personal data when using our website for purely informational purposes. In these circumstances it is much more usual for us to collect and use just those items of your data which are automatically transmitted to us by your internet browser, such as: date and time of data retrieval your browser type the browser settings the operating system used the last webpage you visited the volume of data transferred and the access status as well as your IP address In the event of an informational visit we only collect and use this data in a non-personalised form. This occurs in order to facilitate the use of the web pages called up by you, for statistical purposes and to improve our internet offering. We only store the IP address for the duration of your visit and there is no analysis of personal data.

b) Data which you knowingly and voluntarily put at our disposal RedOutside collects data which you knowingly and voluntarily put at our disposal when visiting us on the RedOutside website. This involves, for example, data which is transmitted when you subscribe to email notifications (eg newsletters), when you take part in a survey, ask us questions or email us with your views. In many cases this will involve personal data and images.

We will use the data for the purpose for which you have provided it. For example, if, on registering, you have entered your email address in order to receive email notifications or newsletters, we will use your email address to deliver the desired email notification to you. The purpose of the data collection, processing and use is to collect data for the desired service, to develop our service further and to optimise it for the customer. If necessary, we will also use the the “double opt-in” process in order to protect you and ourselves from mis-use. Your entries, which are voluntary, assist us in this. We may conceivably also use your click behaviour to optimise the service to you. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter again at any time via email to the above-mentioned responsible body (point 1).

c) Use of cookies Cookies help to make your visit to our website simpler, more convenient and more meaningful. Cookies are small information/text files, which your web browser automatically saves to your computer’s hard drive when you visit our website. For example, RedOutside uses cookies to understand who has visited our website in order to work out how often certain web pages or offerings are visited, which parts of the website enjoy particular popularity and very broadly to ascertain how the website is used or exploited. We use other cookies so that you can move freely around our website and use its functions, for example whilst accessing password-protected areas. The use of cookies also allows options selected or decisions made by you to be used as settings in order to make your visit to the website more convenient. The use of cookies generally serves to improve our services and to make them more effective and secure. However, information is also gathered by means of cookies in order to show you advertising which may be of interest to you. Most internet browsers automatically accept cookies. However, you can at any time configure your browser so that no cookies are saved to your computer or so that a notification always appears when a new cookie is received. Our digital offerings can also be used without accepting cookies, although individual functions may then be restricted.

d) Use of Google Analytics Furthermore, the use of our website is analysed by means of various technical systems, mostly by third-party providers such as, for example, Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc (“Google”).

Google Analytics also uses cookies which are saved to your computer and which facilitate an analysis of the use by you of the website. The information about your use of our website which is produced by the cookies is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and saved there, whereby the IP addresses are anonymised by means of IP anonymisation, so that it is not possible to map to them.

An IP address which is transmitted by your browser via of Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data. The collection and processing of this data by Google Analytics can be blocked by your putting an opt-out cookie in place which prevents the future collection of your data when visiting our website. More detailed information on terms of use and data protection from Google Analytics can be found under: https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/gb.html

e) Google AdWords Our website also uses Google AdWords, an analytics service provided by Google, which as part of Google AdWords uses conversion tracking. Thus, if you click on an advertisement placed by Google, a cookie for conversion tracking (a “conversion cookie”) is saved to your computer hard drive.

These cookies become ineffective after 30 days and do not serve personal identification purposes. If you visit certain pages of our website, Google and RedOutside can see that you clicked on an advertisement and were directed to that webpage. The information obtained using the conversion cookies is used to assist in the preparation of statistics for AdWords customers who use conversion tracking. By means of these statistics, we find out the total number of users who have clicked on an advertisement placed by Google and called up a webpage which has a conversion-tracking tag. Further infomation on the terms of use and data protection in the context of Google AdWords can be found under the following link: http://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/technologi...

4. Social media plugins/buttons

In addition we offer social media plugins/buttons on our website from, amongst others, the following social networks: Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. This is not an exhaustive list and may be expanded at any time. If you click on a plugin, your browser creates a direct link with the social network’s respective servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly to the relevant social network which integrates the content into the website. The integration of the plugin allows the social network to obtain the information that your browser has called up the corresponding page of our website even if you have no account with the respective social network or if you do have an account, but are are not currently logged into it. This information (including you IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a server (most predominantly) in the USA and saved there. If you are currently logged into the respective network, the social network can allocate your visit to our website directly to your account. Equally, if you interact with the plugins, for example by using the “like” button or by entering a comment, the corresponding information is transmitted directly to the respective social network’s server and saved there. The social network can then use that information for advertising, market research and tailor-made design purposes. To this end, usage, interests and relationship profiles are created by the social networks in order, for example, to analyse your use of our website in relation to the advertisements displayed to you, to inform other users as to your activities on our website and to render further services related to the use of the respective social networks. More detailed information on the purpose and scope of the data collection, the further processing and use of the data and settings options available for the protection of your privacy can be found in the data protection notices of the social network operators:
