What inspires me. How I art up my clients' lives. Dedicated to luxurious minimalism.
Viktoria A. Köstler was born in Munich and lives in Zurich. After completing a degree in psychology and working for an international strategy and management consultancy, she began to rigorously pursue her artistic work. The young artist received training in the art of special-effect make-up for film and TV at the London College of Fashion.
She combines her expertise in crafting surfaces with traditional acrylic and oil painting techniques, aspiring to create modern art which aesthetically satisfies and cognitively and emotionally stimulates its viewers.
Whatever she does, she strives to achieve an unmediated expression of her self. Intensively expressive explosions of colour which display an almost hallucinogenic intensity reflect her many-faceted inner world of ideas. However, her paintings hold a greater surprise in store: their spatial depth, in which intense viewers of her art can decipher the perspectival nuances as the most profound expression of her intuition, which constitutes her essence as an individual.

K “ART CAN DO WHAT THE BANALITY OF THE EVERYDAY PROHIBITS”
High-quality acrylic and oil paints, most of which are mixed by the artist herself, lead to paintings of great luminosity and expressiveness. A constant polarising of rational focus and complex emotionality fundamentally shape the formal creative process.
Her primarily non-representational articulations of surfaces produce a strikingly three-dimensional effect and grow out of her love of detail in observing the world around her in all its manifestations. The artist is inspired through her contact with material objects, such as unusual textile materials or elite interior-design concepts, and with nature or also through discussions with various individuals.
Art in architecture forms an indivisible unity whose successful fusion can be realised only through precise observation, a determined focus on aesthetics and structural harmony and a love of detail. The artist’s work and life are fundamentally shaped by the lifestyle concept of “luxurious minimalism”, in which the values of authenticity, sustainability and the rejection of excessive consumerism play a leading role.

“For me, art is outwardly a proof of courage and inwardly an unbridled liberty. My formal process unfolds in the chronologically unpredictable polarisation of acts motivated by concepts and acts motivated by intuition. Viewers of my work are invited to dive into an emotional art experience, reserved for those who are willing to transform their perception.”
The artist’s works are distinguished by the striking red that covers the outer surfaces of their stretched canvasses or wooden painting panels, which vary in thickness from 2–12cm. This identifying marker provides all her artworks with their name: RedOutside.
For these edges the artist uses a bold lacquer red displaying a glossy finish, and every original artwork is stamped with the RedOutside logo. RedOutside is a registered Swiss trademark.
Thus a picture frame becomes superfluous. The glossy red finish of the outer edges provides every painting with a noble and simultaneously modern aura.
